About the project

A place for what student life actually feels like.

Let’s Be Honest is an independent, student-led archive of anonymous notes and stories from Maastricht.

Not a highlight reel. Not a complaint box. Just an honest record of the things students often edit, soften, or keep to themselves.

01 / Why

There is more to student life than what gets seen.

The most visible version of student life can make it look as if everyone already has a room, a plan, and a group of friends. Meanwhile, someone is arriving late, skipping the party, missing home, worrying about money, or simply having an ordinary day.

This archive makes room for all of it. It keeps the feeling and removes the details that could turn a person into content.

02 / Principles

Honest, with care.

  1. 01Honesty without exposure

Say what feels true without giving away who you or someone else are.

  2. 02Context without identification

Broad details can help a story make sense. Precise personal details rarely do.

  3. 03Criticism without targeting

Systems, habits, and shared experiences are fair subjects. Identifiable people are not.

  4. 04Attention without spectacle

No public profiles, comments, follower counts, or popularity rankings.

03 / Boundaries

What this is, and what it isn’t.

This is

  • A moderated anonymous archive
  • A collection of individual experiences
  • A quieter view of student life
  • An independent student project

This is not

  • A gossip or unsent-message page
  • A dating platform
  • An official complaints portal
  • Representative survey data

Something on your mind?

You do not need a polished story. A thought, small observation, question, or feeling is enough.
