How do you keep old friendships without living on your phone?
I want to stay close to my friends at home, but I also want to be present here. Those goals somehow compete. If I reply to every message immediately, I spend the day narrating my new life instead of living it. If I reply later, the conversation has moved on and I feel like I am slowly disappearing from the group. How do people find a rhythm that does not turn friendship into reporting? Scheduled calls feel formal, but waiting for spontaneous timing means weeks pass. I would especially like to hear from people who are not naturally good at texting and still managed to keep the important friendships.
