I am scared university friendships will feel like school again
At school I was friendly with people but rarely part of the group that made the plans. I knew about things after they happened. Nobody openly rejected me, which somehow made it harder to explain why I felt excluded. University is supposed to be a fresh start, but large chats already have the same patterns: a few people become familiar, jokes move quickly, and plans are made inside conversations I am too nervous to enter. I know a chat is not real life. Still, I recognise the feeling of watching a social centre form from the edge. My hope is that university is big enough for several beginnings. Maybe the first people are not the final people. Maybe a tutorial, a housemate, a job, or a random shared interest changes everything later. I am posting this because I suspect the quiet edge is much larger than it looks.
