My housing contract controls more of my social life than I expected
The room is safe and manageable. The rules are the problem. Guests can stay only under strict conditions. Shared spaces have schedules. Small changes require permission from someone who does not live here. I understand preventing noise and overcrowding, but the rules make ordinary student life feel like a request. When friends can casually host dinner or let someone sleep after a late journey, I notice how housing affects belonging. My room is private on paper but not fully mine in practice. I am grateful to be housed. Gratitude and criticism can exist in the same contract.
