Student culture: anonymous student notes

I am working during the semester because I need to, not because I have exceptional time-management skills.

Student life gets described as cheap by people who have not bought groceries lately.

I still do not know half the names in the group but I recognise everyone by profile picture and typing style.

Some student associations feel less like communities and more like auditions nobody admits are happening.

A course group chat should be allowed to contain people who ask course questions without passing a vibe check.

we need more social events where the activity is an actual activity and not standing with a drink pretending to hear each other

The group chat has enough daily plot development to qualify as a full-time series.

Muted the chat for my sanity and returned to a new friendship, argument and housing crisis.

It is possible to enjoy the chaos and still need everyone to stop typing for eight minutes.

Some of you are already group-chat famous and we have not even seen you walk into a room.

I like parties when I already know the people. Being dropped into a loud room of strangers is not the same activity.

Not drinking should not turn every social plan into a debate about why.

The student event was advertised as casual and somehow everybody arrived with a fully developed social strategy.

Being active in a chat is not the same thing as being available, confident or okay.
